Off-campus access

The UPO's electronic resources are also available from home.

What does this mean?

It means that you can access the full text of articles in the journals you are interested in and access the contents of the databases, as if you were doing the research in the department.

Most of the scientific content is in fact available only upon payment of subscriptions, paid by the University Library System.

If you do a search when connected to UPO or Eduroam Wi-Fi or from a PC in the department, the subscription works automatically.

If you search from home or without connecting to the institutional Wi-Fi, you will need to follow the instructions you find on this page of the UPO Library System.

Some resources have been made accessible directly via the University credentials.

ELECTRONICAL PERIODICALS

ACS American Chemical Society

Click on Find my institution, in the top right-hand corner

Search for the name of the University (University of Piemonte Orientale) in "Search for your Institution" and select this, or click on Italy - IDEM GARR in the "Find Institution via Federation" column and then "University of Piemonte Orientale".

Then authenticate by entering your University credentials.

In the top right-hand corner you should see "Access provided by University of Eastern Piedmont A. Avogadro".

BIOONE

From PC and mobile devices:

Go to https://bioone.org/ click in top right-hand corner on “Sign in”.

Then click on “Access Institutional Sign-In via Shibboleth or OpenAthens".

 From the drop-down menu, select “Università del Piemonte Orientale” and click on “Sign-in via institutional account”.

Enter your University login details.

JSTOR

 From PC and mobile devices:

Go to: https://www.jstor.org/, click on “Log in” at top right.

Under the "Looking for your institution?" column, click on the "Find my institution" button.

Then enter "University of Eastern Piedmont" in the search box and click on the "search" button.

Next, click on the "Log in" link that appears next to the result "University of Eastern Piedmont [UNIPMN] University of Eastern Piedmont, Amedeo Avogadro".

Enter your University credentials.

Nature  

From PC and mobile devices, from the page https://www.nature.com/

Click on Log in, top right.

Click on “Access through your institution”, located immediately below the blue Log in button.

Search for the name of the University (University of Piemonte Orientale) and authenticate by entering the University credentials.

Science

From PCs and mobile devices:

Go to: https://www.sciencemag.org/journals, click on “Log In” at top right.

Then click on "Via Shibboleth".

From the “Select your institution location” drop-down menu, select “Italy (IDEM)”.

Another drop-down menu appears where you have to choose your university.

Select "University of Piemonte Orientale".

The "Remember this selection" option is already checked.

Click on the "Select" button.

Then authenticate by entering your University credentials.

Springer  

From PC and mobile devices:  https://link.springer.com/

Click on Sign up / Log in at the top right, then click on Log in via Shibboleth or Athens.

In the column "Or, find your institution (via Shibboleth)" in "Select your institution" look for the name of the Athenaeum (University of Eastern Piedmont).

Click on the Log button in via Shibboleth and authenticate by entering your University credentials.

Taylor&Francis

From PC and mobile devices: https://www.tandfonline.com/

Click on Log in at the top right, then click on Log in via your institution> Shibboleth, search for the name of the University (Eastern Piedmont University) and authenticate by entering the University credentials

At the top right will appear the words ‘Access provided by Università del Piemonte Orientale’, the UPO logo and your account, name and surname

Click on Login / register, top right.

Then click on Institutional login, bottom right.

In Log in with Shibboleth, in the "Federation" field, select "Italy - IDEM GARR", then "University of Piemonte Orientale".

At this point you can enter your University credentials.

In "Select Institution" choose "University of Eastern Piedmont Amedeo Avogadro".

Click "go to login".

Enter your University credentials.

Jove is a resource divided into various sections, consisting of video recordings of laboratory experiments in the biological, medical, chemical and physical fields.

At the top, after "Check whether you can access Scopus remotely through your institution", press the blue ‘Check your access’ button.

Then in ‘Find your institution’ look for the name of the University "University of Eastern Piedmont"

Select, then click on the option ‘Sign-in via your institution’

At this point you can enter your University credentials.

WOS.

From PC and mobile devices, by connecting to the link www.webofknowledge.com  you can immediately enter your University credentials.

E-BOOKS

Taylor&Francis

Click on "Login" at the top right,

Then click on "With Shibboleth or OpenAthens", search for the name of the University (Universita degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale Amedeo Avogadro) and click on the Continue button

At this point you can enter your University credentials.

MLOL (Media library online) 

From the home page, select "University of Eastern Piedmont" under "institution".

Then click on the "Idem Garr" button and enter your University credentials.

ReteIndaco 

From the link to Reteindaco in the BiblioUPO catalog, access your personal space by clicking Mybiblio at the top right

Then click on the red button "If you have an account provided by the University, click here to log in".

Then enter your University credentials and start browsing between e-books, e-journals or e-learning, or do a search.

CATALOGUES

UPO Finder (University online resources catalogue)

From PC and mobile devices: go to home page; click on "Select your region or group". Select "Italian Higher Education and Research".

A list appears, search and click on "University of Piemonte Orientale".

Then authenticate by entering your University credentials.

Confirm with "I accept".

You can now perform a search.
