Course Organisation/Structure

Course Council

The Course Council proposes the assignment of teaching responsibilities and teaching contracts, examines and approves study plans, and oversees all matters related to teaching within the degree programs.
It is the academic body responsible for decisions most directly concerning the degree program, such as study plans, credit recognition, graduation procedures, graduation sessions, and academic calendars.
The Council is chaired by the Chairman of the Course Council.
Its main functions are specified in the Degree Program Teaching Regulations.
The Council is composed of faculty members with official teaching duties (tenured professors, researchers, and adjunct professors), as well as up to three student representatives (see the dedicated pages for each Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Program).

Student Representatives in the Course Council

Student representatives participate in the Course Council with the role of:

  • representing students’ opinions on the progress of courses and contributing with feedback, ideas, and proposals collected;

  • communicating the decisions made by the Course Council to students, with the help of other willing peers.

The main goal is to facilitate communication, support students in their academic path, highlight issues that arise, and, in collaboration with the Council, help find solutions.

Teaching Committee

This deals with:

  • verification of incoming procedures
  • assistance in changing course
  • exam validations.

The Committee can also be consulted before enrolment: in this case it offers advice on the education paths that can be taken.

In the Forms section you can find the form for recognition of credits and transfer from other degree courses or universities to be sent with the documentation; subsequently, the Commission will contact you by email. You can consult these detailed instructions on completing the form.

Tutors

At the beginning of each academic year, each student is assigned a tutor teacher.

The tutors deal with:

  • logistic and welcome assistance for freshers at the Department's offices
  • consultation on individual courses, workshops and levelling courses
  • assistance to students in itinere to manage the training course, interacting with student representatives
  • collaboration for the management of timetables and workload during the semesters
  • management of individual issues.

Course Representative Teachers

These are the teachers required by the Ministry for the didactic needs of each degree programme

Teaching requirements are controlled by ANVUR.
